    This new event promises to be super fun and super free. Bring your little (ages 5-8) on over to the historic Nottingham Cabin and enter them into the Summer Scurry while you prep yourself for the 14th annual Dunk-N-Dash Race Series. Participants will navigate their way around the NEW Nottingham Park playground and field first on foot and then by bike as there compete for a personal best time of the summer on our 1.5K course. All participants will be entered to win some great raffle prizes. No Striders please, as the course will not be marshalled.

  5. 2018 Dunk-N-Dash

    August 20, 2018, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Log Cabin

    The Town of Avon is proud to present our 14th Annual Dunk-N-Dash Aquathlon Series. Athletes can register for one event or for the entire series. Swimmers in the Dunk-N-Dash can opt to make one or two 800-yard loops around the Nottingham Lake. The 5K run starts and finishes at the Lake’s Avon Performance Pavilion. The route runs north around Nottingham Lake, follows the path to Avon Elementary and turns onto the scenic river recreation path. At “Bob the Bridge,” runners turn around and return on the same path detouring to the south side of the lake for the finish line. Participants can also opt to swim our 2.4 mile swim course in the lake by swimming 5 laps around the lake and forgoing the running portion of the race. Stick around following the race to participate in our FREE raffle with over $100 in prizes every week.

    At Harry A. Nottingham Park, TMAC Events is presenting the Pitmaster BBQ and Music Fest – Colorado' Taste of National BBQ near Beaver Creek and Vail. This two-day event brings some of America's best award-winning masters of Pit cooking of smoked flavored meats and live country, rock, and blues from today's known artists. The festival brings together regional tastes of barbecue from southern vinegar-based sauce to dry rubs combined with Coloradoan's favorite foods, craft beers and spirits, and other favorites. Local vendors will sell fresh produce, local meat and eggs, artisan goods and street food. The event will include a beer garden, with happy hour pricing on beer and wine from 4 - 6 p.m., and community yoga from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. The lettuce patch (kids zone) will entertain the littles, and weekly live music will entertain everyone!

    Concerts are a summer tradition in Avon and they are popping up all over town this season! These 90-minute concerts take place May - September, and they allow locals and guests a time to unwind and relax with live classical and contemporary music. Light fare and refreshing beverages are available each evening, and these performances bring an eclectic array of musical styles, from classical strings to Spanish guitars, all performed by musicians from Colorado’s most esteemed symphonies and philharmonics.
